Furniture and product designers are usually a protective bunch, fawning over objects with the same care that proud parents lavish on their newborns. But a handful are now encouraging us to break their creations. In fact, these products aren’t complete until you give them a personal touch by smashing, cracking, hammering, tearing, or snapping them into something new. It’s a different interpretation of DIY: Destroy it yourself.
